Dear IDC,

Im trying to access the Healthcare API DICOM store but I need to request access.
The link to request access is dead it seems.

Original link:
https://services.google.com/fb/forms/cloudhealthcarepublicdatasetaccess/

From:

Would it be possible to provide me access?
The email address I use with google is marijn@aidence.com.

Best regards,
Marijn

Marijn,

thank you for reaching out about this issue.

Access to the DICOM store you mention is not managed by the IDC team. That store and the form are controlled by Google Healthcare. That being said, the form is supposed to work, and it was working at some point in the past. I reached out to Google Healthcare via our channels to report this issue.

Keep in mind that the content of that DICOM store does not contain the latest version of IDC data, and as such does not contain all of the data you can access via other mechanisms supported by IDC (IDC Portal, bucket download, BigQuery search interface)! It is a standing issue to bring that store in sync with IDC content.

In the meantime, you should know that you can access the current version of IDC data via proxied DICOMweb interface (no login required) using the instructions here: Proxy policy | IDC User Guide.

Would you be ok if I transfer this discussion to the public section of the IDC forum here: https://discourse.canceridc.dev? You reached out via email, and this conversation is private, but I think you raised an important issue that would be helpful for other IDC users to be aware of.

Thank you

Andrey Fedorov

Thanks for the quick response. Just wanted to check out the search capabilities of Healthcare API. Not necessary the latest data. So that won’t be a problem.
Ill sign up once the form works again.

Yes please forward the discussion to the public section.

Thanks
Marijn

Thank you Marijn!

Note that if you follow the instructions in Proxy policy | IDC User Guide, they mention https://proxy.imaging.datacommons.cancer.gov/current/viewer-only-no-downloads-see-tinyurl-dot-com-slash-3j3d9jyp/dicomWeb DICOMweb endpoint (that DICOM endpoint link is for API access - it won’t be helpful to open it in the web browser) that should be identical in its capabilities to the Google Healthcare API endpoint. The only difference is that there is a proxy in between so that you do not need to authenticate.

In any case, I will update this thread once the Google Healthcare public DICOM store form is confirmed as functional.

Marijn, I was informed by Google support that while they are updating the documentation page, you should be able to request access to that DICOM store using this form: https://forms.gle/QkpNeWqgsDfJs6W79. They have not provided yet the timeline for updating the documentation page.

Thanks!

The Google Healthcare page has now been updated to fix the access form link: https://cloud.google.com/healthcare-api/docs/resources/public-datasets/idc (please note that the new form has a different link from the original form).

The DICOM store is available but the FHIR store is not.
Is that intended?

I’m interested to see references to imaging data in FHIR (if any)

We do not have any FHIR data in IDC.
