The IDC team is proud to announce the August 2021 update to the platform. The main highlight of this update is the support of DICOM whole slide microscopy images (WSI):
- we expanded the data offering to include WSI content for the CPTAC-LSCC and CPTAC-LUAD collections of TCIA;
- our portal is now integrated with the lightly customized instance of the SliM viewer to support visualization of DICOM WSI data.
The original WSI files were converted from the vendor-specific SVS format into the dual-personality DICOM-TIFF files, and are now available as files in IDC buckets, can be visualized using IDC instance of the SliM viewer, and can be searched through the IDC portal - see the available DICOM SM data here.
