As much as we would like the world to be perfect and for all vendors to use standard tags, it remains the case that we still need to rely on private tags for sometime critical information accompanying the images.
Fortunately, private DICOM tags accompanying IDC data are searchable (as long as they were not removed during de-identification!).
From this new tutorial released recently you can learn how to access DICOM private tags using BigQuery on an example of b-values stored in private tags of prostate diffusion MRI images acquired using GE scanner, which you will find in the “QIN-Prostate-Repeatability” collection.
